Breastfeeding Support

Breastfeeding Mom and Child

Each parent’s decision about how they feed their baby is a personal one, but everyone deserves the information, guidance, and support with this decision from family, friends, community, health professionals, and employer/school.

There are many resources available in our 831 area if we know where to find them. The Breastfeeding Specialists tab has the contact information for local experts and the Hospital Support tab tells you what to expect for support in the hospital.

In 2011, the Surgeon General of the United States issued a Call to Action to Support Breastfeeding, describing how we as a nation can support breastfeeding families. This website is a small contribution to that support. Basic breastfeeding information and contact numbers for local breastfeeding specialists are listed in the resource guides below. We welcome your suggestions for other breast/chestfeeding resources in the 831 area code.
